OSHA Investigating Work Injury at Centene Construction Site

Posted by Alexander Wolff | May 17, 2018 | 0 Comments

The St. Louis Post Dispatch published an article today regarding a workplace injury that took place at the Centene construction site in Clayton.  The article mentions that the worker fell through a hole in the floor two stories suffering injuries.

OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, has announced an investigation into the fall.  OSHA is responsible for enforcing federal workplace safety and labor laws.  Clayco, the corporation responsible for the construction, has also launched an investigation.

Workplace injuries can be catastrophic.  Thankfully this person was not injured worse.  But what could have prevented this fall?  How long was the hole there for before the worker fell?  It will be interesting to see what the OSHA investigation turns up, and whether this terrible situation could have been avoided by simple safety steps like putting up a barricade around the hole.
