Recently, a client moved and failed to leave a forwarding address. The day after his insurance policy expired for non payment of premium, he was in a terrible wreck with his motorcycle with a woefully underinsured driver. His injuries are significant. Had my client notified his carrier of the move, he would have received his premium notice and he would have had coverage on the day of the wreck. If you move and you don't get your mail, it is not the insurance company's fault if you don't tell it that you have moved.
